Zenfilm is a film and video production company founded by longtime creative partners Merideth Melville and W. Ross Wells. Merideth is a talented producer and writer with a resume that includes the Travel Channel, NASA, independent documentaries and broadcast advertising. Ross met Merideth as a cameraman on the Travel Channel gig and has since gone on to become a recognized commercial director and editor with one heck of a showreel.

Vision

Zenfilm offers a full range of turn-key film and video production services and post production capabilities. Over the years Zen has helped numerous client agencies, independent creative professionals, brands, bands and record labels grow their audiences with powerful visual storytelling, a twisted sense of humor and striking graphic design and visual fx.

Planetary

Though Zenfilm is a Houston company, we travel all over Texas, the US, and the world to collaborate with our clients on their video projects. As you might suspect, The Travel Channel experience taught us more than how to get the best exchange rate at a bus station at midnight. Whether it’s Houston, LA, NYC, Moscow, Hong Kong or even Dallas we are completely at home and hit the ground running.

Environment

Working out of a converted 1890′s paint factory in downtown Houston’s historic fifth ward, the Zenfilm team creates TV Commercials, business media, music videos and content for social media deployment. AAF ADDYs, AMA Crystals, A Wide Variety of film festival Awards, and even an Emmy, line the tops of the cabinetry in Zen’s ultra-laid back, creatively intense workspace.

Gear

Not to leave out the all-important techno-geekery: Zenfilm’s post-production facilities offer features unique on the Upper-Texas Coast. Three Nitris-DX Avid Systems, A dedicated DaVinci Resolve-Tangent Element color grading suite and NukeX compositing comprise our low overhead/high performance boutique post offering. These things don’t mean a lot without the talented team of Zenfilm artists that leverage these tools to produce beautiful, thoughtful film and video that builds brands and gets results.
